对于爱表之人，每天腕表不离手，无论再小心翼翼手表都难免被尖锐的物体划伤，造成轻微的伤痕。轻度的可以用基本的抛光和拉砂进行修复，可是深度划痕，就需要更加讲究的修复工序了。
作为表壳表面的工艺，基本上有两种:抛光的和拉砂的，或者两者兼有，修磨手表表壳上的划伤，也要按照原来的工艺去做，大面积的毛道类的磨损，比较好办;但是若有比较深的硬划伤，就要麻烦些，因为无论是抛光或者拉砂的手法，都不足以磨去这样的划痕。
表壳或表带上局部的深度划痕，要着重在局部先用油石做打磨。这个需要在放大镜下进行，目的是给划伤均匀地磨平，当划痕基本都被磨去磨平后，选择粒度合适的砂纸，沿着原来的拉砂纹路去磨，通常这个纹路都是以表盘为中心呈放射状的，所以，这是个仔细活，要一点点的来，磨出来的效果才会好才逼真。建议砂纸选用珠宝行业用的那种，最好是进口的，比如浪琴勇士牌水砂纸。
手持的工具也有讲究，建议使用外科手术上的止血钳，只取一小块砂纸，对折后用止血钳夹紧，平行于原来的纹路做拉砂，蓝宝石玻璃比较坚硬，可以不考虑它，但手表的壳是不锈钢的，操作时一定要注意，不可划蹭到它，必要时可用胶纸覆盖住它。
